- if you haven't seen the slideshow for Week #7 - you can see it here I hope to have Challenge #8's slideshow up and running as soon as i'm able. Watch for it this week.
- Please grab the button for the Weekly Challenge (on the right sidebar) to display on your blogs!
- and i want to say a very extra special big heart felt thank you to everyone who donated funds last week. I continue to be amazed by the generosity of spirit of this wonderful community. HUGS!
Well, what can i say? It's been a long and crazy/hectic week at Casa Diva. And when i put out the call for good healing intentions for my son, Artoo - i have to tell you, i was overwhelmed by the response from all over the world!
In fact, i was brought to tears a few times by the generous nature of this amazing group of tanglers.
Artoo is home and we're all much happier. He's almost back to 100%! He's got a bit of a sniffle and a cough here and there, but to see his personality reappear was really and truly like a breath of fresh air.
Artoo - so happy to be home |
I really didn't have as much time to tangle in the hospital as one would think, as Artoo needed a lot of care - suctioning and feeding and general cuddling. We spent the better part of a week in isolation - meaning that i had to wear a gown and mask to hold and cuddle my baby.
Blowing Kisses to everyone who sent their love and healing thoughts |
Let me tell you, when they gave us the okay to go home, i practically smothered that perfectly round head with kisses. mask free. heaven.
While i was there, the weather outside started to get warmer and cheerier, not that i ever ventured outside of my hospital room. The nurses would talk about how nice it was, and i'd have to take them at their word. Dreaming of spring, i did come up with a new Tangle, which i called "artoo", natch.
New Tangle: Artoo |
We got out of the hospital on Thursday afternoon, and we have been nesting - re-adjusting to the routine, enjoying being reunited as a family. Chewie, our oldest, was happy to be staying the week at his Auntie Pam's, but he was thrilled to come home. I was so excited to see him my heart practically burst. sigh. families. yeah.
There hasn't been much time to do much else this week - so this week's challenge is to try out my new tangle - Artoo.
I hemmed and hawed about using this challenge to 'pimp' out my new tangle, but my hubby reassured me it was fine. (thanks, babe!)
If you have a blog, add the site-specific URL where your tile is posted to the linkey machine below! Don't forget to link back here so that others can join in the fun! (if you don't know how to find this, you can see my half assed tutorial here) Also, please feel free to come back often and visit the links of those people on the linkey machine - don't forget to leave a comment or feedback, everyone loves feedback. ;)
If you don't have a blog but still want to participate, you can email your tile to me and i will post it here. (See the contact tab above for my email address)
The deadline for each weekly challenge is Saturday night so that i can round everyone up by Sunday. What this means is that i will stop adding tiles to the slideshow on Sunday. You're still more than welcome to do the challenges and add your name to the linkey machine.
I will be more diligent with the linkey machine - by editing out the ones that don't work, the doubles, the links that lead to nowhere, the links that go just to blog home pages (this is why we need those site specific urls), and the spam. And there is some spam. :(
Frabjous Day, Calloo, Callay! Beyond delighted that Artoo is well, Chewie is back and you are all cuddled up together. Thank Artoo for the kisses - they were delightful! *G*

ReplyDeleteHey, kiddo, your little Artoo tangle was too adorable to wait so I used it already today! It made a sweet little ATC for Valentine's Day. Thanks for the update on the cutie-pie and for finding the time to post the challenge even though your little guys take a LOT of energy and hey, it IS Valentine's Day after all! I hope you and hubby manage a few minutes to rediscover why you like each other! (((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteOhh, such a cute little man, so glad you are all home safe. Kisses back to you!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely enjoyed creating your tangle 'artoo'!
This tangle was JUST what I needed to express my thoughts about Penn State's upcoming beloved THON. (www.thon.org) Among many other things, money raised from THON helps parents stay with their children during cancer treatment. I know you--and the many followers here--can relate to the beauty of being together with your child as he/she is in the hospital. I'm glad yours is snuggling with you this night.
ReplyDeleteHugs for Artoo from Tasmania! xoxo

ReplyDeleteGlad Artoo is home and on the mend. This pattern is lovely and oh so versatile. Everyone this week has really gone the extra mile on their tangles. I'm so pleased to see Artoo's little face peeking out at me, what a cutie pie!
ReplyDeleteI'm new to this challenge too. What a great one to start off with... I'm glad that Artoo is doing well! I'm glad to have found this site with so many tanglers. Lots of inspiration for a newbie at tangling. :)
ReplyDeleteTo further protect Artoo, I used the artoo tangle in a special way for him, as it turned out. Have linked to my Flickr account with it. Hope you enjoy it.

Hi, I'm a new sharer here found you via Frankie (Dragon). So pleased to hear your baby boy is at home probably the very best place for him. My 'Artoo' is a little different hope you will find it acceptable. Thank you for sharing this fabulous resource. XOXO Zoe
ReplyDeletekisses back lill' Artoo ! love your tangle pattern v much Laura!
ReplyDeleteI find it funny how so many of us tanglers don't really like what we have done(i think its the perfectionist in us) but once we dare post it..so mnay really cant see the imperfections. I am one that had a hard time getting this one the way I wanted..but as we rememeber ..there are no mistakes....thanks everyone for sharing and so glad little Artoo is getting on the mend.
ReplyDeleteThanks also to Laura for keeping up the challenges!!!
So glad Artoo is home and that he has a tangle named after him. I tried to post this last night (on Saturday) but we had a big storm and the electricity went out. Really! Or maybe the dog ate it. No really it was the electricity.
ReplyDeleteBarbara

Hope Your Artoo continues well!!
