First of all, as always - a few house keeping items:
- If you're NEW here (and there've been a lot of new additions to the party!) I'm working on creating some tutorials to help you out. You can click on the links above or: See "Getting Started" and "Tutorials"
- To see all the past weekly challenges - click the tab above, or follow this link
- Please grab the button for the Weekly Challenge (on the right sidebar) to display on your blogs! share the fun!
- The limit of submissions to the slideshow is TWO, but please feel free to post as many as you like to your blogs. I will take the first two presented to each challenge.
- and i want to say a very extra special big heart felt thank you to everyone who donated funds. I continue to be amazed by the generosity of spirit of this wonderful community. HUGS!
all i can say is Thank God that summer weather is finally upon us. We've been spending a lot of time outside, which has been awesome.
my beautiful boys. |
My heart just sings when i see this picture. Chewie just LOVES his baby brother. And Artoo practically worships his big brother... |
Chewie and his cousin LeeLoo skipping hand in hand at the zoo - is anything out there cuter than that? |
The rest of the week was pretty uneventful - Artoo had some appointments for speech therapy and she said he's doing great!
Weekly Challenge #74: "String Theory v. X: Eccentric Circles"
For this challenge - draw a string of eccentric circles (or you can copy mine if that works better for you.) and get a-tanglin'.
To draw them, i started with a small tear drop shape (but you could make yours rounder if you like) and drew radiating circle-esque shapes moving out.
according to wikipedia the definition of eccentric is:
Adjective
eccentric (comparative more eccentric, superlative most eccentric) not at or in the centre.
not perfectly circular.
an eccentric or elliptical orbit having a different center.

i quite like this one. |
If you have a blog, add the site-specific URL where your tile is posted to the linkey machine below! Don't forget to link back here so that others can join in the fun! (if you don't know how to find this, you can see my half assed tutorial here)
Also, please feel free to come back often and visit the links of those people on the linkey machine - don't forget to leave a comment or feedback, everyone loves feedback. ;)
If you don't have a blog but still want to participate, you can email your tile to me and i will post it here. (See the contact tab above for my email address). The deadline for each weekly challenge is Saturday night so that i can round everyone up by Sunday. What this means is that i will stop adding tiles to the slideshow on Sunday. You're still more than welcome to do the challenges and add your name to the linkey machine.
Hey - i should note here quickly that i try my best to get the slideshows up in a timely fashion, but sometimes my life gets in the way (like when Artoo spends a week in the hospital, just for example) so, please be patient. thanks. HUG
I will be more diligent with the linkey machine - by editing out the ones that don't work, the doubles, the links that lead to nowhere, the links that go just to blog home pages (this is why we need those site specific urls), and the spam. And there is some spam. PLEASE do not put your *home* page in the linkey machine... please? for me??
Very nice to see how your two boys are doing very well now: it's about time! at least for this wonderful moment. love 'n greetz, take care, Ellen
ReplyDeleteYour boys are so beautiful, uh I suppose I should say handsome. Thanks for another wonderful challenge. Your tiles are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you got to spend a day at the zoo! Looks like the boys had a great time. Thank you so much for hosting the challenge, it's really cool how there is so much serendipity doing on, I've been working on a painting that has eccentric circles for quite some time now, and just posted a work in progress shot on my blog, then I saw your challenge and did a quick ZIA marker drawing! Thanks a bunch, hope you have a fabulous week. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this week challenge,it's so much fun doing circles
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Chewie and his cousin is just too precious for words!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this challenge. I loved it!
The boys and their cousin are sooo cute. I bet you had trouble getting them to leave the zoo. BTW, I think that is where I picked up the pink eye last Tuesday when I went with two other adults and no children, but there were fifty million kids there!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this weeks challenge and learned a new definition for eccentric, too!
I really like your "spider" tangle! It looks 3D!

ReplyDeleteThanks again for work doing these. Your challenge this week was a real challenge. I know there aren't supposed to be any mistakes in zentangling but I threw away 4 before I came up with this one. I'm not too happy with this one either! Oh well, I tried.
Have been lurking for a while and thinking of joining in - will check out the link for beginners and check back in with you all soon.
ReplyDeleteJust posted my first tile for this week...long post this time, with some special bonuses! Check it out, y'all!

ReplyDeleteHi Eileen - I am joining in for the first time this week as well - look forward to seeing what you do.
DeleteGreat string idea. Delightful photos of the kids. Love the word play. :D
ReplyDeleteYou know, even though I didn't remember which tangles you used, I still seem to have used some of the same ones. I didn't copy; honest! :D

Just linked my first ever tangles - woo hoo this is fun
ReplyDeletethanks for all the shares :)
ReplyDeleteCouldn't stop drawing circles all week long - too fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a fun challenge this week! :) I've gotten quite a few tiles done in my zentangle book. Easy to carry around with me and I don't lose them! I've been without a computer and a camera for the past few weeks so I've posted a large post with many of your challenges in it. I do apologize in advance for that but it was the easiest way to catch up. :)

Love this challenge Laura, thank you again. I am hoping this tangle posting goes directly to my blog. I have been doing something whacky and they are not posting correctly.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great challenge. I used your string and my tangle pattern.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this great challenge :-) And sorry, can you please delete post 86? I have made a mistake in this link...
