If all else fails you can donate to my paypal address which is madam_diva ( a t ) yahoo ( d o t ) com - also to those people who donated this week... THANK YOU SO MUCH.

this one too! |
I have the most beautiful niece! Her dad (my brother in law) just got remarried a few weeks ago, and this was one of the shots of her and i. She's so much fun. She came and stayed with us for a few days this week and we had a great time, mostly making art in my 'studio'. I've known her since she was 18 months old, and i've always thought of her as the little sister i never had.

Here's a cute shot that i 'discovered' on my phone at Chewie's swimming lessons. |
He's been pretty sad about it. He's very attached to it, and not for the games, but for the music. I'm pretty upset as well, not only because we've lost our iPod, but because there were so many adorable photos and videos on it, of the boys laughing together, and about four million shots of the top of Artoo's head... it's sad. He says every day: "Imma have-a tha IPOD!" and i have to tell him it's lost, and he says; "Go find it!" ugh, so hard to explain that it can't be found. :(
On that note, please vote for my photo in this contest CLICK HERE. Should i be lucky enough to win, we will sell my old camera to buy Artoo a new iPod. (sorry apparently the link does not work for mobile devices)
Weekly Challenge #128: Two-Pencil String
I revisited the start of this challenge a while ago, and i was marveling at how far we've come together as a group! It's pretty awesome. Anyway, the second challenge i ever issued was a Two-Pencil String challenge (see it here!) and it was inspired by my fellow Saskatoonian CZT, Margaret Bremner who does some amazing 2pencil string tiles.
So, to do a 2 pencil string, all you need is... you guessed it - 2 pencils! and also a rubber band.
The tricky part lies in turning corners, or dealing with uneven pencil leads - so i had to 'fix' a bit of my string.
It's pretty fun, if you're one of those people who gets stumped at the string, this is an easy go-to to get you started. Also, speaking of Margaret, she just posted an amazing tangle sampler full of linear/border type tangles! Check it out for some inspiration!
Have fun with this!
If you have a blog, add the site-specific URL where your tile is posted to the linkey machine below! Don't forget to link back here so that others can join in the fun! (if you don't know how to find this, you can see my half assed tutorial here)
Also, please feel free to come back often and visit the links of those people on the linkey machine - don't forget to leave a comment or feedback, everyone loves feedback. ;)
If you don't have a blog but still want to participate, you can email your tile to me and i will post it here. (please email to weeklychallenge(at)mail(dot)com). I just ask that you put in the subject line: Challenge # ________
The deadline for each weekly challenge is Saturday night so that i can round everyone up by Sunday. What this means is that i will stop adding tiles to the slideshow on Sunday. You're still more than welcome to do the challenges and add your name to the linkey machine.
I will be more diligent with the linkey machine - by editing out the ones that don't work, the doubles, the links that lead to nowhere, the links that go just to blog home pages (this is why we need those site specific urls), and the spam. And there is some spam. PLEASE do not put your *home* page in the linkey machine... please? for me??
Laura, these are some darling pictures of the boys. After the long cold winter, they must love being outside with family and friends. This was a fun challenge. Thanks, as always.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of your guys! They are adorable. I love this challenge also. Your site is awesome and good luck with the camera.
ReplyDeleteI agree Laura the group has grown with fantastic leaps and bounds. Beaut tile and pics.

As always you have given me a great start to the week. I live for the challenges! Your tile is especially beautiful this week and your photos always bring a smile to my face!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great challenge; it's only Tuesday, and already I've done 2 ZIAs using 2 pencil strings, and I know I'll come up with a few more. Thanks for your wonderful inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI love reading about you and your boys! Great job coming up with challenges!
ReplyDeleteI had much more fun with this than I did the first time around. I even recycled a tile that I had created in 2010 the first time. I didn't like that string and never filled in. This time, I embraced the string and had a blast! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Laura, for providing such a generous learning forum. You're admirable!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for posting a very fun challenge! I loved using the 2 pencils for a string.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to share our creative fun.
ReplyDeleteWhen I entered as # 62 the link didn't work, so I entered again as # 63. I don't know how to remove the first one. This was a fun challenge, thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time entering the challenge. I hope I did the link-thing right:) Thanks Laura.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for a fabulous challenge. I know I'll make use of the 2 pencil string often. And I can't wait to see what you come up with next week.
