Happy Monday Morning everyone!
First of all, as always - a few house keeping items:- If you're NEW here I've created a few tutorials to help you out. You can click on the links above or: See "Getting Started" and "Tutorials"
- To see all the past weekly challenges - click the tabs above (they are updated sporadically, please bear with me)
- Please grab the button for the Weekly Challenge (on the right sidebar) to display on your blogs! share the fun!
- The limit of submissions to the slideshow is TWO, but please feel free to post as many as you like to your blogs. A note about entering your images for the slideshows: Those of you without blogs or image sharing sites like flickr or picasa, please continue to email your images to weeklychallenge at mail dot com (not gmail, just mail). Everyone else - Please PLEASE PLEASE submit your SITE SPECIFIC URL in the linkey machine. I understand if sometimes you forget, that's fine. Compiling the slideshows is a lot of work, so any help in this regard is appreciated. Also, please do not use the Weekly Challenge as a way to drive traffic to your website if you are not participating. not cool.
- i have set up a newsletter, sorta. You can subscribe to it HERE or in the Subscribe tab above! Now, the idea for this newsletter is NOT to send one each Monday before the challenges. That is too much work. But i thought it might try to write a newsletter once a month-ish... Frankly, people kept asking me if i had a newsletter, so i thought i'd give it a try.
- I know that some of you have told me that the paypal button does not work, and some of you have had no trouble, i'm not sure why it's inconsistent, I've just redone the code...again.... If all else fails you can donate to my paypal address which is madam_diva (a t) yahoo (d o t) com

How was your week?
Weekly Challenge #168 Tangleation Nation: Rain
This week's challenge is to take an official tangle "RAIN" and use variations or tangleations of it. I chose rain this week, solely because it has been raining for the past 24 hours. lol
You can find the step outs for the tangle Rain here. I think this one will lend itself quite nicely to tangleations/variations. I've made my tile a monotangle, but you certainly don't have to.
I've also done this tile using a embossing/colouring technique that Jenny Farrell learned at Tangle U. i'm still learning, but i really like it.
**DUE TO A DISGUSTING AMOUNT OF SPAM I'VE RECEIVED IN THE LAST WEEK I'VE TURNED ON THE COMMENT MODERATION FOR NOW, PLEASE BE PATIENT** THANKS!
Have a great week!!
If you have a blog, add the site-specific URL where your tile is posted to the linkey machine below! Don't forget to link back here so that others can join in the fun! (if you don't know how to find this, you can see my half assed tutorial here) Also, please feel free to come back often and visit the links of those people on the linkey machine - don't forget to leave a comment or feedback, everyone loves feedback. ;)
If you don't have a blog but still want to participate, you can email your tile to me and i will put it in the slideshow. (send submissions to: weeklychallenge at mail.com) [not gmail, just mail]. I just ask that you put in the subject line: Challenge # ________
The deadline for each weekly challenge is Saturday night so that i can round everyone up by Sunday. What this means is that i will stop adding tiles to the slideshow on Sunday. You're still more than welcome to do the challenges and add your name to the linkey machine. - although to be honest the deadline is pretty forgiving.
I will be more diligent with the linkey machine - by editing out the ones that don't work, the doubles, the links that lead to nowhere, the links that go just to blog home pages (this is why we need those site specific urls), and the spam. And there is some spam. PLEASE do not put your *home* page in the linkey machine... please? for me??
We had rain too... and then it got very cold for NC in the 'spring time' we went down to 48 degrees... that was two days ago... now today it is suppose to be up in the 90's... weird weather... but glad you had a nice birthday... that is more important than the weather any old day...
ReplyDeleteLove, light and Peace...Bonnie
I had to do another one!!!! If you read my blog, you will see why... but it is not a tangle that I really like... but had to do it.. ???/ Weird HUH???
ReplyDeleteHey Laura, I just linked to the Linkey Machine as number 8 this week with my entry. It looks like you had a great birthday from your husband as well as your CZT buddies. You have two fun kids too...I see Chewie as a girl friend there...startin' out young, mama. Anyway, Diva, have a good week.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you had a fun filled week celebrating your birthday Laura. I love Rain and your tile is so cool, I love the colours and the texture - it reminds me of one of those welcome mats :)
ReplyDeleteThis was a fun challenge; I may have to create another tile :) Loved seeing the pictures.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a really fun time this week! How fun to have your own small class with Margaret and the girls!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for an enjoyable challenge. I am proud to say I only entered my link one time this week. As always it was fun to see your pictures, even if I am now craving a cake with lots of thick white icing and chocolate flakes...mmmm!. (Now this would be a challenge - deconstruct patterns from the cake's icing....)
ReplyDeleteHello Diva, I'm fairly new so thought I should say hello. I'm #32. I have been enjoying these challenges. Thanks very much. It's been raining in Southern Ontario too!
ReplyDeleteLooks like your birthday lasted!! That's the way they're supposed to be celebrated!!!! Sorry you're getting all the rain! Please send it my way. We are so short of a good rain this year. Anyway, I love your tile and the new look.Wish I could see up close and what part is embossed. Looks like you girlies had a good time together! See you next week! :0) Share Humanity
ReplyDeleteWell, you forced me to like this tangle after trying out again and again! Thanks La Diva!
ReplyDeleteGreat challenge Laura and that looks like great cake too :) Linda x
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for some un-sympathetic magic here. We've had far too much rain in CT to suit me.
ReplyDeleteWe have not had a lot of rain so far. Just missed some storms the other night. We have had enough though and my schedule has been crazy enough that thought I may have to rent out the lawn for grazing since it has been growing a lot.
ReplyDeleteI chose a monotangle also. I could not see any reason to add another just for the sake of it.
ReplyDeleteI was afraid this might have the same impact as a rain dance. I risked it, even though the thought of more rain made me want to cry and I had a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteHi friends! I just created and posted my very first tangle pattern, which is also in my post linked above (#56) along with my tile of Rain! :) :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so hoping we don't have rain as we're doing a lot of reforms in the garden...rain will turn the building site in to impossible mud!! In Andalucia, we might be OK though...getting very hot here these days! Thanks for a lovely challenge! Axxx
ReplyDeleteBeen looking at other posts - so many great RAIN tangles and variations! Good challenge.
ReplyDeleteThis challenge was a little hard for me as I am also a beginner. My thought was with or any storm it is often said there is a silver lining. So when I did the cloud I put silver in them to go along with the though. However, it was made known to me that people are unable to see my post. I tried changing Mister Linky's information but it coming up when I press my name that it is still incorrect and not able to get to the web site. Is there any suggestions on how I can change this.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a great birthday. Love the cake. You are just a few years younger than my youngest son.
I was a bit tardy in posting though I finished it last week. Glad you had a happy birthday.
