the story of my life |
Hopefully Second Winter doesn't stick around too long.
On Friday afternoon/evening i drove to Calgary for WeLove2Tangle on Saturday - an all day workshop for Zentangle enthusiasts! Then on Sunday i drove home late just in time for this post.
Here's a quick recap of WeLove2Tangle

As it happens, i never seem to get a photo of me speaking, so here's some selfies from the day, during my part of the workshop.

Sandra Chatelain CZT, the mastermind behind the whole day, introducing my fellow Saskatoonian Margaret Bremner |
CZTs Nina Klaiman, Cindy Hagen, and Margaret Bremner all shared with us some awesome tangleations on different tangles. This part of the day was great. Too often, i get stuck in ONE WAY of doing a tangle. i'm excited to break out of my mold a little bit.

Weekly Challenge #210: "Spiralstring - that's the thing!"
Hey everyone, I will be at WeLove2Tangle so i've pre-written this week's challenge so hopefully all i'll have to do is get home (probably late on Sunday) and plop in some pictures of the weekend and be done!
This week's challenge is to use a spiral as your string... I like to come back to a simple spiral string because frankly i find them to be challenging because they don't really close off anywhere. PLUS they always look so cool.
Do you have a particular thing that you find challenging that you go back to again and again?
Have a great week!
If you have a blog, add the site-specific URL where your tile is posted to the linkey machine below! Don't forget to link back here so that others can join in the fun! (if you don't know how to find this, you can see my half assed tutorial here) Also, please feel free to come back often and visit the links of those people on the linkey machine - don't forget to leave a comment or feedback, everyone loves feedback. ;)
If you have a blog or host your images on line (like on Flickr or Picassa or Pinterest), add the site-specific URL where your tile is posted to the linkey machine below! Holy macaroni am I really first? That never happens! :) Weekend looks like fun and your hair looks adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I wish I could have been at that tangle-fest. You and my other hero Margaret Bremner have really inspired me as I tangle-travel along. I can't believe you did a spiral challenge right now as I have been just drooling over some spiral tiles I've seen on Facebook over the weekend. Must be destiny - I can't wait to get going. Great hair, by the way. It really suits you!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for being such a noob! Linked twice to my Flickr photo and doesn't know how to delete one of them.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure but... no man at WeLove2Tangle? Tssss....
ReplyDeleteLove this challenge :)
ReplyDeleteGreat challenge. Glad you had such a great turn out for your tangle-fest.
ReplyDeleteI do like the tangleations from Margarets class! I love this week's challenge and I also love your tile!
ReplyDeleteThis was so much fun, I did two!. As always, I enjoyed reading about life in the frozen north. (As opposed to living life on the damp fringes of Europe.) Your tiles are all great and I always feel I learn something from them. Thanks yet again.
ReplyDeleteI like spiral and it is my second participation in the weekly challenge, I am almost a regular customer !
ReplyDeleteI would have LOVED to be at that workshop - SO envious! Glad you enjoyed. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry, I didn't want to use capital letters for my name! This was my keyboard.. ;-)
ReplyDeleteBut by the way let me tell you that I really like your challenge and all the inspiring posts of all! Many greetings from Dresden/ Saxony to all who are tangling!!
I'm very late to the "game" this week---but I've been traveling in Turkey and Israel, so I'm actually impressed that I managed to get a response to this week's challenge "in the books". Four inches of snow in Saskatoon in late March---not all that surprising, but they also got that in my hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania---that's just not right. BTW, love the haircut. Sassy.
ReplyDeleteI got mine done last night. Thank you so much for these challenges. I just started with them a few months ago and have gone back and saved all the other and when i need something to do i try one of them. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, so much fun. My second week of participation in a row. Thank you very much for the challenge. I almost spiraled out of control, but that's half the fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing these challenges, they make Monday morning way more fun! Love your tile.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the challenge!!
ReplyDeleteHello and just wanted to say thanks for letting me participate in my first challenge. I had fun and tried two styles. I have left Wordpress due to technical difficulties, and am at www.hungrycorgistudio.blogspot.com. Stop by and visit any time. Your art has been so inspiring and really makes me want to refine my skills. You are all so talented and unique, it's been really great to 'meet' all of you. Thanks, Sarah, hungrycorgistudio.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this challenge, Laura. It was a ball. I've always liked spirals as strings, and this time I really got carried away and did a bunch of them. Then, Adele Bruno came up with String #85 (a spiral, of course) for It's a String Thing this week, so I got to do it all over again.
ReplyDeleteAnd your haircut is great!
Laura, please remove the first post (Indira). It is linked to instagram photo. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time and I LOVE the haircut. Looks much easier to take care of. Thanks for the challenge, it was a bit more of a challenge than I thought it would be. I'll have to revisit spirals once in awhile, it looks like. Anyway, thanks again and I do appreciate all the time you put in to this endeavor.
ReplyDeleteCool hair cut!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time stepping out of the shadows :) I wanted to see what would happen when you put a grid design on a spiral. I chose Hi-Cs and was wowed by what happens to the diagonals.
