Weekly Challenge #360

How have you been my peeps?

I had a busy week this week - with the kids back in school after their "spring" break - there was a lot of getting back into routine.

But there was also a lot of errands and running around that needed to be done because none of that was done last week.

one of the cool things was this:

my nails are so pretty!
I had been joking around on a video i posted on Instagram a little while ago saying "who wants to buy me a manicure" and then shortly afterwards i got an email transfer from Sandra B with a note saying: "For your fancy nails"  I have to say i was floored!  Thank you so much Sandra, i had a lovely time and i love my nails and my hands felt so smooth afterwards!

There's some big news in the house lately, and that is that this dude right here was invited to join the gifted program next year!  This week there was an information night to talk about the program and what the classrooms are like and what the kids can expect - and he was so pumped.  honestly he hasn't talked about much else.

wait, i lied.  He's also talked quite a lot about minecraft and nerf guns, and star wars, and splatoon
One of the things he was concerned about was do they have a choir, and the answer was no, but they really want to start one... so i think he's pumped.  He's also really excited that for the gifted program they start the Concert Band in the fifth grade (instead of the 6th grade like the rest of public school), and that band is mandatory for all the kids in the gifted program (i gotta say i'm pretty pumped about that too) and even more exciting (for me) is that he wants to play clarinet (JUST LIKE ME!!! I played clarinet from 5th grade to University) so we hauled out my dear old clarinet and have been going over how to put it together and hold it and yeah, playing it a little too.  (much to the howling delight of the dog)

The gifted program is in another school in the city though, and while i'm excited for him to spread his wings, i'm worried about him being 'so far away' and what transportation will look like getting two kids to two separate schools.... and i'm kind of sad that he and artoo won't be in the same school anymore.
the boys 'working' in the studio on their kid run publishing company
But i think it will be really good, all logistic nightmares aside.  My brain already has me conjuring up scenarios where both Christmas Concerts will be on the same day, or that there's a special field trip for one while there's a school activity for the other... but i'm getting ahead of myself.... just calm down laura.  do some tangling, seriously.

And on that note....

Weekly Challenge #360 "Duotangle Shattuck vs Tripoli"
This week's challenge is a Duotangle - one of my very favourite types of challenges.  A Duotangle is the term (*coined here on this blog!) for a tile done using ONLY TWO Tangles and their variations.

This week's challenge is to see how you can make Shattuck and Tripoli play together on your tile!

(follow the links for step outs!)

Here's my tile, i quite like it!

and the video of the process can be seen right here:

have a great week everyone!
And if you're on the Zentangle Mosaic App or Instagram - i'm @iamthediva - come on by and follow me, and i'm going to be using hashtags on the app for each of my weekly challenges. So if you're game - use the hashtag #DC360 (Diva Challenge #360) for your tile this week! You can also search in the app for people's contributions to the challenge by clicking on the hashtag from inside the app, or using the search function.
If you have a blog or host your images on line (like on Flickr or Picassa or Pinterest), add the site-specific URL where your tile is posted to the linkey machine below! Don't forget to link back here so that others can join in the fun! (if you don't know how to find this, you can see my half assed tutorial here) Also, please feel free to come back often and visit the links of those people on the linkey machine - don't forget to leave a comment or feedback, everyone loves feedback. ;)
If you love the challenge as much as i do, please consider leaving a tip (tip jar in the side bar). I write this blog for free and have no plans to make it a paid for service in the future. Buy me a cup of coffee, or a new Micron pen!! Click the tip jar on the side for a monthly tip, but if you just wanna throw a few bucks my way THIS LINK will give you a one time option. A very big thank you to those who have kept me in hot cups of joe. ;)
