Weekly Challenge #362

Happy Monday!

I am totally exhausted! It's Sunday night as i write this post... The weather this weekend has been absolutely gorgeous and so B-rad and i have been working like crazy, cleaning up the backyard, raking and getting rid of stuff that's been sitting around, i cleaned out one of 3 of my flower beds and raked the front yard, and then we headed to my parents' place for dinner to celebrate a very late birthday for my mother (who turned 60 in March) - and i was falling asleep while reading a bedtime story to Chewie.

So, while i did actually record the footage for this week's video, i don't have time to edit it - i will try to get to that this week and get it posted for you.

Weekly Challenge #362: "UMT: Somnee by Laura Harms, CZT"

The first Monday of each month is a Use My Tangle challenge where the tangle we use is brought to us by ONE of YOU!! You don't have to be a CZT to submit, but they do have to follow the guidelines etc found here...

Welcome to the Month of May!  I'm celebrating my birthday next wee (on the 12th) so all the challenges in May will be either my own tangles, or some of my favourite challenges and tangles.  Cuz it's my birthday, y'all.

lol

Because this is the first Monday of the month this is a UMT or a Use My Tangle challenge - but in this case it's one of my tangles, called Somnee.

Somnee is a tangle that i first posted in May of 2014 - you can read the post and find the step outs here

Some tips for Somnee are to make sure that your lines connecting your circles are as straight as possible, and are as parallel as possible.  I find that when the circles are different sizes i start with the small one (Sometimes) and draw to the larger one and stop when i've used up all the 'space' on my smaller circle.  if that makes sense??

Here's my tile

I like how the string ended up making it look like a 'figure' - and since Somnee is named after a night of insomnia, i thought the starry background was kinda fun.

(VIDEO TO COME!!)

have a great week everyone!
And if you're on the Zentangle Mosaic App or Instagram - i'm @iamthediva - come on by and follow me, and i'm going to be using hashtags on the app for each of my weekly challenges. So if you're game - use the hashtag #DC362 (Diva Challenge #362) for your tile this week! You can also search in the app for people's contributions to the challenge by clicking on the hashtag from inside the app, or using the search function.
If you have a blog or host your images on line (like on Flickr or Picassa or Pinterest), add the site-specific URL where your tile is posted to the linkey machine below! Don't forget to link back here so that others can join in the fun! (if you don't know how to find this, you can see my half assed tutorial here) Also, please feel free to come back often and visit the links of those people on the linkey machine - don't forget to leave a comment or feedback, everyone loves feedback. ;)
If you love the challenge as much as i do, please consider leaving a tip (tip jar in the side bar). I write this blog for free and have no plans to make it a paid for service in the future. Buy me a cup of coffee, or a new Micron pen!! Click the tip jar on the side for a monthly tip, but if you just wanna throw a few bucks my way THIS LINK will give you a one time option. A very big thank you to those who have kept me in hot cups of joe. ;)

  4. Still trying to play Catch-Up. This challenge is one of the first I was able to complete. Didn't even realize that I liked Somnee. But now I'm sure to use it again. Thanks for all the work that you do. It is appreciated.
