Weekly Challenge #364

Good Morning everyone!! Happy Tuesday!  Yesterday was Victoria Day in Canada - so we had a long weekend!

And we celebrated the long weekend by throwing a surprise 60th birthday for my mom!  She was totally surprised, probably partially because her birthday was back in March!  but we had some of her friends from church and my brother came in from Calgary (AB) for the weekend.

Nothing says celebration like a balloon arch
I feel like my whole life has been revolving around this crazy party and i'm so glad it's over now.  Months of planning and trying to make sure that mom was around and that she didn't suspect anything - lots of yard work and planting flowers and then i got sick....

and this guy
because timing.

but we persevered..... the party went off without a hitch, we made it through, i survived, we had lots of backyard fires and family fun times.

and then....
artoo got sick too.

So.  that's where we are now.

i am sick.  artoo is sick.  we are exhausted.

So without further ado

Weekly Challenge #364: "Remake of a classic"

This week's challenge is part of the month of Laura - May Challenge Favourites!  This week you're goal is to go back into your stash of completed tiles and to remake one of your favourites!

For my tile this week i went back to my very first challenge - and one of my favourite tiles.   The first challenge can be found here

and here's the tile

and here's the remake:

Remaking an old tile is a fun way to see how you've grown and how your style has evolved!

have a great week everyone!
And if you're on the Zentangle Mosaic App or Instagram - i'm @iamthediva - come on by and follow me, and i'm going to be using hashtags on the app for each of my weekly challenges. So if you're game - use the hashtag #DC364 (Diva Challenge #364) for your tile this week! You can also search in the app for people's contributions to the challenge by clicking on the hashtag from inside the app, or using the search function.
If you have a blog or host your images on line (like on Flickr or Picassa or Pinterest), add the site-specific URL where your tile is posted to the linkey machine below! Don't forget to link back here so that others can join in the fun! (if you don't know how to find this, you can see my half assed tutorial here) Also, please feel free to come back often and visit the links of those people on the linkey machine - don't forget to leave a comment or feedback, everyone loves feedback. ;)
If you love the challenge as much as i do, please consider leaving a tip (tip jar in the side bar). I write this blog for free and have no plans to make it a paid for service in the future. Buy me a cup of coffee, or a new Micron pen!! Click the tip jar on the side for a monthly tip, but if you just wanna throw a few bucks my way THIS LINK will give you a one time option. A very big thank you to those who have kept me in hot cups of joe. ;)

  1. It all sounds like such fun right up until you both became ill. I hope you recover soon and look forward to reading more about your art and your lovely family.

  2. It looks like you pulled off a great surprise party. The getting sick part --- ugh. My husband caught a massive cold virus from a co-worker. I'm expecting to be next. It's also looking like Ireland around here because of buckets of rain every day. :(

  4. I really like that pipe-like (not sure how to describe it) tangle you used. What is it? I don't think I've seen it before.

  5. I think I left the comment on challenge 206! Since I picked my old tile there! I liked to do this. It was a little bit strange to pick a tile I was satisfied with and remake! Your tiles are lovely! Like them both! Hope you´ll be fine soon both of you!

  6. I love both! The funky minimalist look is great, but so is the embellished version!
