Weekly Challenge #381

Hello hello!

Happy Monday to y'all.

Weekly Challenge #381: "A Happy (new) Medium"
This week's challenge is to try tangling with a medium you haven't tangled with before! i figured that since the holiday season is over it's time to try something a little different, and maybe you received some new art supplies for Christmas or you got a fancy new pen, or some fountain pen ink.

Typically i tend to do all my tangling with the micron pens we all know and love, and in October i tend to tangle with a dip pen and ink for Inktober.

No string, or specific tangle to use, just try a new pen, pencil, crayon, ink, marker, woodburning, carving, or a stick in the sand.....

For my tile, i used my Staedtler Triplus fineliners that i mostly use in my planner/bullet journal.

My finished tile

So i stuck to two different coloured pens, and used tangles i love.  Phicops, printemps, and baton.

When you're using your 'different pen' notice how it feels on the tile.  I always tend to notice when things don't have the same 'feel' as the microns, nothing i've found yet seems to have the same type of 'drag' on the tile that i am familiar with, but it's still fun to try new things!!

So, go forth and be creative and have a great week!

have a great week everyone!
And if you're on the Zentangle Mosaic App or Instagram - i'm @iamthediva - come on by and follow me, and i'm going to be using hashtags on the app for each of my weekly challenges. So if you're game - use the hashtag #DC381 (Diva Challenge #381) for your tile this week! You can also search in the app for people's contributions to the challenge by clicking on the hashtag from inside the app, or using the search function.
If you have a blog or host your images on line (like on Flickr or Picassa or Pinterest), add the site-specific URL where your tile is posted to the linkey machine below! Don't forget to link back here so that others can join in the fun! (if you don't know how to find this, you can see my half assed tutorial here) Also, please feel free to come back often and visit the links of those people on the linkey machine - don't forget to leave a comment or feedback, everyone loves feedback. ;)
If you love the challenge as much as i do, please consider leaving a tip (tip jar in the side bar). I write this blog for free and have no plans to make it a paid for service in the future. Buy me a cup of coffee, or a new Micron pen!! Click the tip jar on the side for a monthly tip, but if you just wanna throw a few bucks my way THIS LINK will give you a one time option. A very big thank you to those who have kept me in hot cups of joe. ;)

  1. Very pleasant challenge, I'm curious to discover what we will see. Thank you very much Laura and your tile is beautiful.

  2. I completely forgot to check for the challenge last week. I was so busy (new year clean up LOL ) but I got a lot done and that was satisfying. But, I made this challenge and it was a challenge as I didn't really have anything "new" to me except Sharpies. So, that's what I used. Take a look. :-D Thanks for these challenges Laura!

  3. My 'new' things were, like Melena, Sharpies. Have them for quite a while, but never used them, so this was a great opportunity. For me they are not fine enough to tangle, but it was nice te try. I do like your tike Laura!!!

  4. What a fun challenge! Thank you. I have the same pens but have had them for a while and thus did not fit the challenge for today. I used a distress spray stain on mine and my 01 micron ran out of ink, so I had to resort to an 02 or 03, I cannot remember which.

tangle me some zen, baby!!
