an update and Inktober Tangles

Hey everyone.

Let me catch you up on what's been happening.  For those of you who don't follow my page on Facebook or my Instagram page, it does seem as though i have fallen off the face of the planet.  What's going on is that over the last six months i have been dealing with hand and arm pain - so much that when i try to hold a pen for too long my hand cramps and it's very painful.

I'm currently waiting to get a referral to an occupational therapist, i see a great massage therapist, and i've been using CBD Cream on my hands daily.... and i've had to cut back on so many of the things that i enjoy - like tangling, painting, journaling, knitting, pottery.... because i need to use my hands for all of that.  although i have been picking up sewing in the interim, because i need to be creating and sewing doesn't hurt my hands.

but i miss my blog, and i miss my tangling, and i miss making videos.

So i've been working on that slowly.

i take a lot of rests, but it's not the same as it was.

As it's now October i thought i'd try dipping my toe back in the water with Stephanie Jennifer's Inktober Tangles prompts.  You can find the list of tangles here

So i made a video.

i hope you like it.

  1. Whatever you do, take care of yourself first. And you made me extremely happy. You are using a lamy fountain pen. I use them for journaling and will now play with them for zentangle. Take care.

  2. I can't imagine what you must be going thru. Can you draw with your other hand? Or is the pain in both hands. Hope you get answers and solutions soon. I miss your posts. Take care, Laura.

  3. So good to see you back with us again. I hope you can get the right treatment and get back to tangling and challenges and all you used to do before. It was your challenges that got me hooked on tangling, for which I will always be grateful. In the meantime, be well and happy.

  5. Good to see you back, even if it's just a bit. My husband also has enormous pain in his hand and ... it's in his 'good' hand (because in the other he has more spasms) so he can hardy do anything and if he does, he has sooooo much pain. Hope both of you recover soon.

  6. Oh, Laura! I'm so sorry you've been having so much pain. I was wondering what happened to you. I was really hoping you hadn't fallen off the face of the planet! :-0 I didn't think that was it though. :-) I found your Inktober videos on YouTube. It's so good to see you online again. I've been doing the Zentangle Inktober this year too. I really hope the CBD cream is helping. Sometimes that's the only thing that really helps the pain. I'm thinking good healing thoughts for you. Take care of yourself first and foremost.
